Rogue traders targeted in New Year crackdown

ROGUE traders are facing a New Year crackdown in Wirral.

Wirral Fair Trading Scheme is targeting unscrupulous firms preying on vulnerable customers.

New legislation allows Trading Standards to vet businesses to make sure of proper customer service and high quality work.

All traders signing up to the scheme will have to stick to a strict code of practice.

Derek Payet, trading standards officer said: “The scheme will provide a way for customers to avoid companies that use bad practices.”

Companies involved in providing double-glazing,driveways, guttering, damp-proofing,and security services are the first to be encouraged to join up.
