Can You Really Make Money Online?

The Internet has become a valuable tool in our day-to-day lives. We can search library catalogs, order movies, order pizza, shop, date, and even continue our education all from the comforts of our home. But, can we now add making money to the never ending list of possibilities the Internet has to offer? And if so, why aren't more people doing it?

Over the years I've watched a growing number of "Work from home opportunities," "Earn a six figure income from home", and "Earn CEO income without the stress" pop-up everywhere from newspaper ads to signs on the side of the road. Not to mention the countless ads that are on the major search engines, advertising working online opportunities. With the nature of today's economy I find myself seeing and receiving more work online opportunities than ever. Is this a scam to prey on the weak or are these genuine opportunities?

Working online is part a multi-billion dollar industry and there are more than 67 million people in 125 countries worldwide. Of which 77% of the national sales force are married and 42% of the national sales force are college graduates. In addition, the majority of the sales force is of the 35-44 age group. Another surprising number is the amount of women that are in this industry, 87% of the industry to be exact are women. When asked how much time is spent working their online business, only 12% indicated working more than 20 hours per week to make money online. (http://www.dsa.org/).

The Network Marketing (majority of online money) compensation structure is responsible for 95% of all Sales in Direct Sales totaling $104 Billion dollars in 2007, we'll further discuss the different types of structures in the following post as well as how to choose a good company. There is currently a revolutionary movement to turn Network Marketing mainstream. With the amount of money being made only no wonder the industry is currently being endorsed by former President Bill Clinton, author Robert G. Allen (No Money Down), gurus such as Tony Robbins, Donald Trump, and Robert Kiyosaki. With numbers like these I'm amazed as to how long this industry has remained under the radar for most of us.

The Internet is creating so many millionaires that they are in a class of their own, they're called Internet Millionaires. Some of the top guys in the industry are making serious money, even the ones who aren't millionaires yet. So, why don't most of us know of this industry and better yet why aren't we all on our way to being the next Internet Millionaires?

That's pretty easy to answer, while there are plenty of online opportunities there are a few pyramid or panzi schemes that have given the industry a bad reputation, don't worry I'll show you how to spot the phonies. The second reason is we are conditioned to look for a typical j.o.b. (just over broke) and when we see a legitimate opportunity we pass it up because we don't understand what we are seeing. Even worst, is the fact that most of us are too afraid to try something different and unconventional. Will you make $5,000 in a day, perhaps not; but it's definitely do able in 30 days. There are a few industries out there that are considered recession proof and working online is now on that list.
